Brent Starzacher
is Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the areas of
Engineering, Manufacturing and Production Systems, and Information
Technology. His specialty is the procurement and integration of
these disciplines in an organized and efficient manner, engaging
the client in ever step and ensuring that their projects are
realized correctly, on time, and within budget. Mr. Starzacher has
carried out engineering, construction supervision and machinery
installation services in the USA, Canada, Europe and Mexico.
He is a partner in a HSB International Inc., an engineering
and design firm dedicated to providing industrial engineering
solutions.
Mr.
Starzacher is an expert at advising corporations on trade and
technology opportunities in order to development business and
production advantages in Mexico, Latin America, United States, and
Canada. He is a specialist in strategic development, Information
Technology, engineering project management, and the
design/construction of technical and production facilities. He
works closely with clients for systems integration and training,
coordinates technology deployment, and assists in knowledge
transfer and cross-cultural training and business practices in
social and technical settings. By utilizing his international
background and strong interpersonal skills, Mr. Starzacher is
adept at building efficient team relationships, from corporate
officers to factory floor workers.
At LATGO, his
duties include the facilitating of “Maquiladora” outsourcing
and advising, review of manufacturing processes and projects,
engineering outsourcing and human outplacement, strategic
partnerships, software development, assisting in plant design,
construction supervision and equipment installations (often in the
form of turnkey projects). He works with the client and government
to facilitate site location, including the negotiation of land and
permits, estimation of job creation, contractor selection and site
supervision.
Mr. Starzacher
has worked for HSB International Inc. since 1999, having carried
out projects with Dominion Atlantic Corporation as Project
Engineer for a chemical mixing plant in Mexico in 1999. From
January 2000, to March 2002, he was part of the coordination team
for a large German industrial research project (iViP – Virtual
Product Creation, 50M Euros) realized between top German companies
and leading R&D centers where his duties included assisting in
project coordination, event planning, software integration and
testing. On a technical side, Mr. Starzacher was responsible for
maintaining a network for Software Integration and
Interoperability Testing.
During his
student years, he worked various summer terms at engineering
firms, including an eight-month assignment at the Institute for
Laser Tools (IFSW) at the University of Stuttgart. From 1994 to
1998, Mr. Starzacher participated heavily in the construction of
The University of Western Ontario’s SunStang solar car project,
taking part in races in North America and Australia.
Since finishing
his Master’s and work term in Germany, he has been in Mexico
City and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of HSB
International de Mexico, an engineering and design firm originally
from Canada.
A
native of Montreal, Mr. Starzacher received a Bachelor of
Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Arts
in Economics from the University of Western Ontario in London,
Ontario, Canada in 1998. He completed a good percentage of the
B.E.Sc. during his term at the engineering school at Universität
Stuttgart, Germany, and finished the B.A. in Economics at the
Intstituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM)
at the campus located in the State of Mexico, just north of Mexico
City. From the end of 1999 to the end of 2001, Mr. Starzacher
completed a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (specialty
in Production Systems and Virtual Product Development) at the
Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, while working at the
Fraunhofer Institut für Produktionstechnik, one of Germany’s
top R&D centers.
